Eye on Red, The Tale of the Maple Kingdom and Tariff, The Dragon's Den

Once upon a time, in the vast and prosperous Maple Kingdom, the people lived in harmony, enjoying the sweet syrup of their land and the fruits of their labor. The kingdom was known for its rich resources and strong community spirit. Years ago, the wise rulers of the Maple Kingdom, both from the Liberal and Conservative clans, made deals with distant lands. These deals, known as the Free Trade Agreements, promised great wealth and prosperity. The rulers believed these agreements would bring endless riches to the kingdom, and for a time, they did. However, as the years passed, the kingdom became increasingly dependent on the goods and whims of foreign lands. The once self-sufficient Maple Kingdom found itself vulnerable to the changing tides of international trade. One day, a fearsome dragon named Tariff emerged from the distant land of Trumpia. The dragon announced it would impose a 25% tariff on all goods from the Maple Kingdom. Panic spread from coast to coast as the people realized the impact this would have on their economy and way of life. The wise elders of the kingdom gathered to discuss the situation. They reflected on their rulers' past decisions and recognized that the lucrative, quick-rich schemes for their corporate and banker friends had led to this moment. The Free Trade Agreements, which once promised growth, had instead increased the kingdom's dependency and vulnerability. The proposed tariffs from the Tariff Dragon were a stark reminder of the long-term consequences of prioritizing corporate interests over the kingdom's stability.

The elders knew they needed to find a way to protect their land and ensure a prosperous future for their people. With renewed determination, the people of the Maple Kingdom began to focus on rebuilding their self-sufficiency, supporting local businesses, and fostering innovation within their borders. They learned from their past mistakes and worked together to create a more resilient and independent economy. So, the Maple Kingdom thrived once more, not by relying on the promises of distant lands but by embracing the strength and unity of its people. The tale of the Tariff Dragon became a lesson for future generations, reminding them of the importance of balance, foresight, and the actual value of their homeland.
